Last week, K and I ventured out on to the Juan de Fuca trail for a couple days of exploring. It was a maintenance trip in all respects; both of us haven’t had a bag night in a while and lately neither of us have hiked much with a big pack. For me, it was the first time I’d be shooting landscapes since longer than I’d like to admit.
On the whole, I was quite happy with the results. I’d hiked the trail a few years before so I knew the terrain we’d be on. Before heading out the door I had envisioned some scenes I wanted to keep an eye out for, and one of them was a reflection shot using the tide pools on the beach. By having an idea of the scene I wanted, it was a quick and easy setup. Then it was up to K to take the right steps.
